This interactive workshop introduces participants to Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and its application as a decision-support tool for sustainable process and product development.
The workshop focuses on four key themes: LCA fundamentals, system thinking and hotspot identification, hands-on modelling and scenario analysis, and the transition from ex-post assessment to Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD).
The workshop provides practical tools for evaluating alternative technologies and implementation scenarios, while encouraging discussion on real-world industrial challenges and opportunities for more sustainable chemical and biobased production systems.
As the workshop includes practical exercises and guided software-based activities, participation will be limited to a small number of attendees. Advance registration is therefore required. Participants are expected to bring their own laptop to fully engage in the hands-on sessions. Registered attendees will receive detailed software installation instructions and all relevant workshop materials a few days before the event, allowing sufficient time for preparation.
